Rio Picollo (they, them)

Co-President (MLIS), AMS Representative, GSS Representative

Heyo, I’m Rio. I’m an MLIS student and your LASSA Co-President for 2020-21 academic year. Aside from LASSA, I’m a co-coordinator with Out on the Shelves Library, a Technical Services student librarian at Xwi7xwa Library, and in the First Nations Curriculum Concentration (FNCC). I’m looking forward to being part of LASSA during this interesting time and helping us all make the most of our time at the UBC iSchool.

Anita Fata (she, her, hers)

Hi, I’m Anita. Originally from Prince George, BC, (traditional lands of the Lheidli T’enneh) I’m currently a MLIS student in the FNCC. I learned a lot in my former role of Event Coordinator last year and I’m looking forward to serving as your LASSA Co-President and working with the new executive team. In addition to LASSA, I’m a also a Co-op Student at the Making Research Accessible initiative and a Co-Coordinator at Out on the Shelves Library. Please feel free to ask me any questions about the iSchool, LASSA, OOTS, the FNCC or the Co-op Program, or to reach out with any ideas on how LASSA can better serve our student body.

Hailing from Mountain View, CA (traditional lands of the Ramaytush and Tamyen Ohlone), Mya is a second year DUAL student in the FNCC. She is very excited to represent you as treasurer this year! In addition to her position with LASSA, she is involved with Out on the Shelves, iPOC, and the iSchool’s Curriculum and Assessment Committee. She is happy to field any questions regarding LASSA’s finances, being an iSchool student, or anything else she might be able to help with. Please feel free to reach out!
